Psychic Day is a day that is set aside to give people the opportunity to hone their psychic abilities or, simply put, their sixth sense. Its origin dates back to nineteenth-century England.
Psychic Day is celebrated each year on the 1st Sunday of August.
The word “psychic” is derived from the Greek word psychos (“of the mind” or “mental”) and refers in part to the human mind or psyche (ex. “psychic turmoil”). The psychic spectrum is so broad that it eludes a rational mindset as it processes sensory data on delusional sensations, deeper intangible emotions, or a spiritual level.
Being psychic is often discredited by parents, adults, or strangers when we are growing up as the notion is incomprehensible to most people, often associating the psychic intuitions with hallucinations, schizophrenia, freak, or a con artist. There is no denying that psychic abilities are inherently present in every human soul, somewhere buried in the subconscious but require an effort to push out.
The purpose of the psychic day is for people to take the time to try and improve this psychic power in order to develop the abilities lying dormant within them.
Here are a few suggestions that might help:
- Meditation
- Use Psychometry
- Guess who is calling you when the phone rings
- Take a deck of cards and guess the suit’s color. Continue and eventually try to predict the particular suit name and number.
- Flip a coin and predict if it will fall on heads or tails
- Keep a dream journal
